(VEN) – The Master Plan on Sustainable Exploitation and Use of Coastal Resources for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, was announced by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment on December 15 at a conference in Khanh Hoa Province.

On October 7, 2024, the Prime Minister issued Decision 1117 approving this Master Plan. The implementation of the plan will contribute to transforming Vietnam’s coastal areas into vibrant economic and cultural hubs, serving as gateways connecting the development space between land and sea, and as a strong foundation for advancing maritime activities.

At the same time, the plan lays the foundation for further improvements of the legal framework and more effective management of marine resources and environment, helping strengthen defense and security to safeguard maritime national interests, and contributing to Vietnam’s goal of becoming a strong and prosperous maritime nation.

This is a multi-sectoral planning framework that has rationally allocated space for the development of various sectors and fields of the economy. It serves as an essential legal instrument for the effective management, exploitation and use of resources, while ensuring the protection of the environment and ecosystems in Vietnam’s coastal areas.
